Help installing SL in a Core i3 notebook

Hi

 

The notebook in which I'm trying to install SL has the following specs

 

Core i3-350M

Onboard video

a completely unsupported WiFi card (RTL8191SE), but I''m using a USB adapter

2GB RAM

320GB Hard Disk

 

but it's from a not very good manufacturer, the BIOS lacks some good options and I'm able to get past the boot, after the installation, and I can't get it to recognize my CPU nor my graphics adapter

 

I've tried:

iATKOS S3 V2 > Installs OK, but I can only get to normal mode in 32-bit kernel and the video is limited to 1024x768.

 

Any upgrade past 10.6.5 makes me unable to boot even in safe mode.

 

Is there anything I should be doing from the install that would help?
