I recently Hackintoshed a friends PC using a combination of #####+#####, Auto-DSDT Patcher, and a RTL Wireless Installer for the Wifi. Everything works, quite well in fact. However, I can't seem to get the computer to sleep. I tried using the SleepEnabler.kext but it caused a kernel panic and I had to remove it. Not really sure what to try, I have EvoRSleep installed, but it doesn't seem to be working.

When I did #####, I actually ended up doing the ##### DSDT-Free install and then later realizing that this Auto-DSDT patcher exists I just generated a proper DSDT and then did the Custom DSDT Install w/ easy beast and everything started to magically work properly, except sleep. Thanks for any help.

I experienced the same KP issue using SleepEnabler.kext. However, this was an iATKOS S3 v2 install with ##### to add audio and LAN after updating to 10.6.7.

Any chance of getting your BIOS settings and steps? You have used a retail disk I take it.

I am using a P5K3 Deluxe rev. 1.01G with 2x1 GB and E5300 and had various issues using ##### and Retail 10.6 and did not make it to the install screen.

I would appreciate it if you could tell me what you did exactly to get to where you are now. I would then be able to work on the sleep issue.

UD3, UD5, UD7 all run nicely thanks to kakewalk, but this is my first build using older hardware without foolproof methods. And I have never had to deal with DSDT.

I messed around a lot. Eventually I ended up using that Auto DSDT patcher from TonyMac. it had my motherboards DSDT in it that worked pretty awesome except the sleep. I basically just used the method tonyMac outlines on the ##### post. Except the first time I did it I thought using just the ##### install would be enough, however, a lot of things didn't work. I just jumped to using the User DSDT option with the dsdt.aml that it generated. After that it worked fine except sleep.

Thanks for that. I am still somewhat of a novice to OSx86 and this board is the first one that requires some thinking. I need to ask though, what did you change in the BIOS apart from AHCI and S3? I still don't get to the install screen, even using -v -x -f cpus=1 memmax=2048 busratio=20 arch=i386

I will tackle the sleep issue as soon as I have negotiated this modest obstacle.
