I tried modifying a EEPROM from a P2 mainboard by inserting a mac chime recorded from my old powerpc, but it doesnt seems to work Anybody has any ideas to share? 3.14r2 Posted June 4, 2011 Share Posted June 4, 2011 In short - NO WAY! In Macs it is controlled by EFI. Chameleon as an EFI substitution, is not designed to support sound and some other features. To have the sound you should either create a boot loader with such function or somehow do this via BIOS modification (which you are trying to do). IMHO it is not possible to do this via BIOS due to hardware restriction. However there is an application "Startup Sound" (SL only) that loads a sound file of choice upon OS X startup.
