MacFreak21 Posted August 26, 2006 Share Posted August 26, 2006 Hello all, I have a small issue with my buddys laptop. we are trying to install 10.4.7 Jas dvd, but its loaded and install went fine, but the load screen takes forever and then when it starts the GUI load "Starting .... . .. . " the bar is locked at .01%. Anyideas on this dead system. Acer 9411, Intel Core Duo T2050, 17" WXGA, Intel Graphix 950, 100gb HD IDE, DVD DL-RW, 1 Gb Ram, 802.11 a/b/g. Rammjet Posted October 14, 2006 Share Posted October 14, 2006 What packages did you select in the Customize window during installation? Did you select the GMA900 package? Also, on some Core Duo machines, one of the cores needs to be disabled to run on OSX. During boot, tap F8 quickly and repeatedly as soon as the screen first turns black. At the command prompt, type: cpus=1 If that works, when you get booted, add cpus=1 to the Kernel Flags parameter in your boot.plist. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
