I love the idea of the quiz(zes) for new users--although I must admit, I am certainly a n00b to this scene. I've been a Windows man for years and know a good bit about PCs, but would be lying if I told you I knew much more about Macs outside the context of those quizzes... Anyway, I'm trying to complete my first project of installing SL on my aging AMD system. [ASRock NF6G-VSTA / Athlon x2 4400+ / GeForce9500GT] Below is the suggested "setup" for my mobo: I have tried installing Zephyroth Rev1 a handful of times now with a couple of different issues. The first time I reached a "successful" install and then went to boot up and got an HFS+ partition error--I tried it all over again and double-checked my settings in the Disk Utility and everything went smoothly. But this time when I booted up, I got the panic on the grey screen saying I needed to restart. That's as far as I've gotten. I haven't injected or installed any kexts for my 9500GT yet, which may be the problem, and as I'm typing this, I'm going to just remove the gfx card altogether and see if I can successfully install/boot up with just onboard video. I guess I'll leave it at that for now. Any insight would be greatly appreciated--I really hope to complete this project! Thanks! LtJdangle911 Posted May 30, 2011 Author Share Posted May 30, 2011 ALRIGHT!!! I'm on my "Mac" right now!!! I used the iPC distro and much to my surprise, the LAN worked right out of the box as well! The only things that don't seem to be working are the audio and 9500GT, but other than that--it's great!
