Yes, I used the iAtkos S3 V2 install dvd to complete the installation. Twice. but for whatever reason when I HAD it booting (since, have wiped) I could only get so far with the twirly loading wheel under the apple logo. My understanding is that this card will be iffy getting to work, but I seem to have the same problem using the integrated graphics as well. I tried various boot flags including cpus=0.

I couldn't tell you exactly which items I chose to get it to install from that iAtkos disk but I could probably replicate it after a few tries..

I might note that I'm having the disk.sys hang trying to get windows 7 to boot on this machine. Who would like to waste/enjoy another moment of your life as a forum volunteer and help me out a little bit?

This machine is headed straight for my iMac G3 restoration project :):D

cpus=0 does nothing, if it did, the system wouldn't be able to use ANY processors (cpus= flag forces the system to only use the specified number of cores/processors you enter)

That board has a SIS IDE Controller. Without the correct drivers (kexts), the system will hang at the apple with no spinner. (while in verbose mode (-v at boot prompt), it would say something along the lines of:

"Still Waiting for Boot Device..."

"Still Waiting for Boot Device..."

"Still Waiting for Boot Device..."

"Still Waiting for Boot Device..."

etc., etc.)

The closest thing would be the VIA SATA/IDE controller under SATA/IDE in the Hardware section.

Go ahead and give it a try.

I believe I got it to install with that driver.. I used to be able to get passed the apple logo but then it would hang or maybe freeze after a minute of loading. I'll try again today. IS there a particular bootloader I should try or are they all pretty much the same? I fee like I've had more luck with Slice.

I will report back with all the options in my BIOS as well. From reading on my last thread from 2008 it would seem that there are additional options I should mess with that I have not yet. I figure if I post all the bios settings someone could maybe tell me exactly which ones to shut off for sure. (I have tried installing 20+ times now and am getting irritable)

Should I do any of the EVOEnabler or Graphics-related options? Should I just try to install without the AGP card first?

I also noticed that the usb mouse/keyboard intermittently work in certain ports upon booting installation dvd.

Is the ati radeon 9800 pro 256mb a 3.3V agp card? This mobo doesn't support them. This card requires molex connection.
