I picked up a second one of these to better work though installing Snow Leopard. I am keeping one, and it's a great little system. Extremely stable. I have invested many hours customizing the DSDT and various kexts, including VoodooHDA.

Currently running Snow Leopard 10.6.7 using NBI+Chameleon.

99% of the hardware is operational under OS X: Audio (2 mic, speakers, headphones), WiFi 802.11n, ethernet, bluetooth, USB (2), SD card slot, external VGA, Webcam, sleep+wake modes, battery monitor.

- Intel Atom 1.67Ghz processor

- 160 GB hdd

- 1GB RAM (can be upgraded to 2GB)

- 10.1-inch 1024x600 Screen

- 2.4 pounds

- 4 hours battery life

Just to be clear, here's a list of known problems:

  • - System does not properly hibernate on full battery drain, it just powers off

  • - The battery meter does provide accurate read-out of battery life.

  • - Asus Keys don't all function after sleep & wake

  • - There are Preferences panels work-arounds

  • - WiFi can be stubborn to connect (some bug with the Apple driver)

  • - Persistence pays, and once it connects it is solid

  • - Some windows hang below the display screen due to non-standard resolution

  • - Usually not a problem and can be worked-around always

All of these problems can be mitigated. I have successfully upgraded to 10.6.6 and 10.6.7 using Software Update and NBI updater. On rare occasions it will kernel panic on boot, but always it can be rebooted into a working environment. It has never given a kernel panic while the OS is running.

The physical system and LCD display are in excellent condition. Also Includes:

- A/C adapter

- Windows XP disc with license

- Original box and manuals

I'm asking $210 + shipping. Ask questions. I'll ship globally.
