Hey all,

First of all, I'm very new to the hackintosh scene, so be gentle. :)

Now then, I've successfully installed OS X 10.5.3 on my Dell Inspiron 1525 (Intel Pentium Dual-Core processor, FYI) using the Kalyway (spelling?) version of OS X. I would have just used Snowboot and Snow Leopard, but my drive cannot read DL discs, and my USB drive is juuuuust small enough for the DMG to be unable to fit on it. Therefore, I am installing 10.5.3 and upgrading to Snow Leopard... or, at least, trying to.

Anyways, my question is simple: Given my current setup, how can I safely upgrade to Snow Leopard from my existing Leopard installation?

Additional information:

I do not have any other OS installed on this laptop

I do not have a Mac I can use for additional work

Up until recently, my USB ports have been acting strangely due to Mac OS X not picking them up. I have recently installed the USB Mount Fix from an iPC disc, and that seems to have solved the problem.

My flash drive is 8GB, but formats to approx. 7.46GB.

I used the default installation for Kalyway, with no modifications whatsoever (other than the USB Mount Fix from iPC and various scripts to get my wireless, sound, and touchpad fully working).

Thanks in advance. If you need additional information, please let me know.

EDIT(1): First of all, let me apologize, as I believe this may be in the wrong section. Perhaps it should be in the Post-Installation section?
