I am attempting to install iPC 10.5.6 onto an Acer Aspire 4471z. I know it's not exactly the best laptop for OSx86, but I have before installed Tiger (10.4.1) onto a 4GB SD Card (OS X doesn't detect the Internal SATA Hard Disk, nor the Disc Drive, so I am installing from a USB DVD Drive) with success. I have realized that my hardware is too recent for Tiger, and I found a copy of iPC 10.5.6. Upon attempting to boot, I am able to boot to the option screen (I don't know the technical name for it, but it is the screen where you are able to put in options such as -v, -x, -f, -arch=i386, etc)

Upon entering options, it will go to the next screen, and before showing any text (or, without -v, before showing the Spinner), it will reboot. I have read around the internet and found that this is a problem with the kernel. I am planning to test this and see if this is true, by saving different leopard kernels onto a flash disk and attempting to boot using a different one each time, to see if any of them work better with my hardware.

I am requesting the command that you type to boot from a different kernel, and more specifically, what would it be to access it from a different drive.

Any suggestions or previous experiences are welcomed! :)

Specs:

1.87GHz Intel Celeron P6000

Ironlake Graphics (128mb)

Clarkdale/Arrondale Chipset, etc.

Any other information needed can be provided upon request!

Thanks ;)

Also, if it helps, I CAN boot into the installer using iATKOS 4a (AMD build.) Remember I am using an Intel PC. I found that quite odd.
