Hi there,

I have been running my Hackintosh without issues for well over a year now. I have just installed a 60GB SSD boot drive. I cloned my current boot drive to the new SSD, I shut down the computer, swaped the drives, then restart this time booting from the SSD, but, I get stuck at "Verifying dmi pool data". What's the best way to fix this?

I am itching to try the new SSD. Any help would be appreciated.

Anil.

PS. I did a search for "verifying dmi pool data" on this forum but was told the search term was too generic.

Why don't you try booting it with your ##### disk and then using ##### to make it bootable. It might work.

I had to reinstall completely, create a fake user, update all the way, then use migration assistant to bring in my old user and application info.

Since then, however, I've had nothing but trouble maintaining the computer as an osx box. I'm about to write a post detailing my efforts.

Hi Delta B Cooper,

Many thanks for your reply. I read your signature and felt your pain dude.

First I must apologize, because the info I gave about my problem was non existent, how is anyone supposed to help me with the info I provided? So sorry about that, I should know better.

Second I have fixed my problem and am now running off my SSD. I used the Kakewalk method of getting OS X running. www.kakewalk.se it only supports a few MoBo's, thankfully I think yours is supported. Becuase it is so easy with this method it's silly.

18 months ago I too had an expensive paperweight, but after 3-4 days of trying the Lifehacker method plus countless others, a kind soul suggested Kakewalk. Thank you whoever that was. It's been plain sailing until my new SSD yesterday. But a little bit of reading made me realise what "verifying dmi pool data" means. Basically the hardware cannot connect to the OS, so I reinstalled Kakewalk from my USB stick and voila! Faster than a politician leaving a brothel!

I have been using Mac's for 20 years now, and I have been a professional designer for 15, my Mac is my lively hood, Kakewalk is awesome, I hope it works for you.

Good luck. Anil.
