Hey Guys,

Ive done some searching on all the hackintosh related forums and cant come up with any threads. Is it possible to run OS X on a Lenovo x220? My 5 year old macbook is on its last breaths and I'm considering buying an x220. Thanks for the help.

I have an x200. You most likely can, but with limited hardware support. Integrated network (Intel chipset) has had very limited success (refering to code.google.com/p/iwidarwin). You can always swap out network card though. I have not been keeping up with Intel HD Graphics 3000, but I suspect that the new macbook pros have them, it would not be a problem.

JosemiteSam, I too bought a x220. I am a newbie and require lots of help. Can you post the steps you have used so far? Which version of mac os retail did you use? I did try 10.6.3 but it does not contain the drivers for the intel hd3000 found in the x220.

Thanks!

Yep same here. I tried to tackle this task in quite a few ways, but never even got a greeting screen ;-)

JosemiteSam: how have you managed just to be promted if you want to install? Would be great to hear.

Thanks 2!

Edit: Hm I managed to install it now (I choose the easy way with #####+#####+external DVD-drive :(). I tried to install the Update for MacBookPro 2011 for support of the Sandy Bridge GPU, but changing to MBP specs killed my installation.

---

So far usable:

USB

Ethernet

Internal Keyboard

Multimedia Keys (Mute; Higher/Lower)

Internal Camera

Bluetooth (worked for me strangly after a few reboots... perfect with magic mouse/trackpad)

---

NOT usable:

Wireless

Battery is not found - at least i think it's not

---

Not sure if probably working:

Getting support for Intel HD3000 (I had a strange resolution)

Touchpoint

The speakers sound awful

---

Not tested yet:

Expresscard Slot 54

Internal Mic

Headphone jack

Sleep/Suspend

SD-Reader

Dear Troete,

Which ##### did you use? ##### or ##### legacy? Also, which flags did you use?

Did you have to set the -v -f flags? What about setting bus ratio and GraphicsEnabler?

I did try ##### legacy with these flags initially and they sort of worked. But like you, I was unable to get decent resolution.

I also had trouble with #####. After installin #####, I could not get the X220 to boot without using #####. Would you mind sharing which settings you used?

I will try again and report back here if I have any success.

Thanks.

I've installed Lion DP4 and latest update on my X220 with chameleon boot loader.

works without any change:

CPU I5 2410M

Graphic Intel HD 3000 with 1366*768

touchpad and red point

internal camera

works with external driver:

sound with VoodooHDA

not work:

wireless card (using usb wireless instead)

sleep

Does any one know how to make X220 sleep and wake? Appreciate any help.

Hey,

Any new success stories?

I just got a X220. I think I'll go for Lion DP4 and see how it goes, reporting back here.

Best,

William

Hi Guys,

I have a X220 too. But I have trouble installing the chameleon boot loader after installing SL 10.6.7 update, let alone installing Lion DP4 over the SL.

Would you please post step by step instructions on how to get the chameleon boot loader to install on the X220?

I have tried countless times. I have tried using ##### and can finish the install process but thereafter, using chameleon or ##### fails to install the bootloader.

Please help.

Thanks!
