Hi all,

firstly, thanks to JaS with his great contribution :D

I'm currently facing a problem while installing the OS X.

When I tried to install OS X, it firstly display the grey screen, then wait for about 3~5 mins, a blue screen comes out just for 1~2 secs, then my monitor displays "No Singal".

I did install it successfully once, and reboot quite a few times without facing the same problem.

but now no matter I boot from the HDD or the DVD, it all goes to "no signal".... :D

I tried the VGA dongle solution for GMA900, doesn't work :P

Can anyone provide a solution for this?

my system is:

AOpen MiniPC MP915-B

GMA900 (DVI connector)

P-M 1.83

many thanks

Eternity

I have mp915-b and the very same problem on Jas 10.4.8. I figured out that the problem occurs because OSX somehow thinks that the DVI out is the secondary display and it does not detect it. To get display to work I have to erase Extensions.mkext and Extensions.kextcache in /System/Library each time before rebooting.

Once you do get the DVI to work, go to System Profiler, Display section and you will see that your monitor is attached to the secondary display. Actually, I think this makes sense because GMA900 in my other desktops has analog VGA as the main out and DVI is only available as an add-on option with an ADD2 card.

To get display to work I have to erase Extensions.mkext and Extensions.kextcache in /System/Library each time before rebooting.

I have the same problem except that I have a Dell Inspiron E1405 notebook with Intel 945GM (according to VESA info). My notebook has an analog monitor out and not DVI. What do I need to do? I don't exactly understand what you mean.
