keith04
I am using the VMware image, but got "You need to restart error" on Dell D610. Pentium M, 2.13 GHz. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks My guess is that you arent booting into safe mode, or reloading the configuration. If you search in the forums for directions on installing OS X, most will tell you to boot with the -x or -f flags. Have you tried these yet (they are "Boot in Safe Mode", and "Reload Configuration"). (Third time Ive posted this today... seems a lot of people are having problems with this ) cheers, keith Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/2564-you-need-to-restart-error-on-dell-d610/#findComment-16818 Share on other sites
rjz
What does reload config to? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/2564-you-need-to-restart-error-on-dell-d610/#findComment-16887 Share on other sites
keith04
What does reload config to? safe mode helps more often (-x), but reload the configuration (-f) lets OS X reload everything, forgetting about any previous hardware configuration. If your hardware is very different from that of a development box, this can prove helpful in getting the system to boot, as OS X will try to load everything for YOUR hardware, rather than the developer's hardware. cheers, keith Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/2564-you-need-to-restart-error-on-dell-d610/#findComment-16946 Share on other sites
