Hello everyone. I am new to OSx86 and I tried to dual boot my X201 with Windows 7 and Mac OS X. I can only boot into Mac OS X using ##### CD, but not #####.

I only used one hard drive to do all these:

1. Boot from a Windows 7 USB.

2. Open Command Prompt.

Steps 3-7 are done with "diskpart"

3. Use "diskpart" clean the drive.

4. Convert the disk to use GPT.

5. Create a EFI partition of 200MB

6. Create 3 partitions for Mac OS X,Windows 7 and Data storage respectively.

7. Format the Windows 7 Partition to ntfs.

Steps 8-12 are done for installing Mac OS X 10.6.7

8. Reboot using ##### 3.0.1 CD

9. Installed Mac OS X 10.6.3

10. Using #####, successfully boot in to Mac OS X.

11. Ran 10.6.7 Combo update with dmg from Apple official website.

12. Ran ##### 3.5.2 with ##### and System Ultilies selected.

(The Mac OS X cannot boot from hard drive, but only with ##### CD, even though I didn't start installing Windows 7)

Steps 13-17 are done for installing Windows 7.

13. Boot from Windows 7 USB again.

14. Installed Windows 7 to the Windows 7 partition.

15. Boot into Windows 7 without any loader.

16. Installed EasyBCD 2.02.

17. Create a boot entry to enter Mac OS X.

Now I can boot with 2 methods.

I) Boot from ##### CD. (Both Mac OS X and Windows 7 can boot successfully.)

II) Boot from EasyBCD. However, when I chose Mac OS X, Chimera starts, and failed to boot into Mac OS X.

Can anyone figure out what's caused this situation?

Thanks in advance.

Attached is the screenshot taken when I boot with -v

At the top of the screen is listed HDAEnabler and at the bottom is a kernel panic with VoodooHDA. These are two different audio enablers that are conflicting.

You need to get rid of one or the other. Since VoodooHDA is causing a panic, I would start with it.

rlf, Thank you very much for your reply.

Since I am new to OSx86, I would like to ask what is meant by get rid of?

Should I search for VoodooHDA kext and remove it, then repair kext caches and permissions?

Besides, I have no problem to boot with ##### CD at all.
