ck65
Hello everyone, I was trying to install a Leopard on a Lenovo F40M laptop. I've tried the iATKOS 5i 10.5.5 or iPC 10.5.6 PPF Final, both the installation processes ended up successfully. But after the restart, just on the "grey apple" startup screen it gets kernel panic, even if I uncheck all the patches and leaving only the voodoo kernel. When installed with iATKOS (voodoo kernel 9.5.0), it just displays the four-language message telling me to shut the computer down and restart. When installed with iPC (also voodoo kernel 9.5.0), it displays some text messages but I don't really get their meaning, I'm too newbie I just know maybe there's something wrong with AppleSMBIOS or AppleACPIPlatform... Well, I'm posting a picture of the panic screen, hope somebody give me some help. In addition, my laptop dvd drive was broken, so I dumped the iso first into a main partition with 6G disk space using a software called "Leopard hard disk installation helper v0.3", and made a boot menu using Chameleon v3. My computer specs are as following: CPU: Intel Pentium T2060, 1600MHz (12x133) Motherboard: Lenovo F40X Motherboard Chipset: Mobile Intel Calistoga-GML i940GML/i943GML Memory: DDR2-800 2G Display: Mobile Intel® 945 Express (128MB) Sound: Realtek ALC862 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/255593-voodoo-kernel-installed-but-fails-to-startup/ Share on other sites
slamsteel
You HAVE to check patches. Because without those patches. OSX86 wont work. " Have you tried to boot up in safe mode? Hold down the shift key before OS X tries to boot, keep holding the shift key until you see the spinning wheel.
