Crucial Posted August 23, 2006 Share Posted August 23, 2006 I have a Dell Inspiron 2650 with 10.4.7 installed. The sound and trackpad works, but If I touch a key on the keyboard (which doesn't work) then the trackpad stops working also. I think I just need the correct kext for the onboard keyboard but I don't know where to get it. Also the pcmcia card slots do not seem to work (no flashing lights as usual) and the onboard network is not working. I really need to get the network working if anyone has any suggestions. I have searched and read all the wiki but can't figure this stuff out. Please help. xtreme571 Posted August 27, 2006 Share Posted August 27, 2006 Did you do a custom install?? I had the same problem with 10.4.5 Universal Install dvd. Try using 10.4.6 JaS edition it has worked for me. Ethernet still doesnt work but it solved the keyboard and trackpad problems. Sound as well. Crucial Posted August 27, 2006 Author Share Posted August 27, 2006 I used 10.4.6 jas and then the 10.4.7 upgrade. The sound and trackpad now works. But I still can't get the keyboard or network working. I'm going to copy some new kexts over to it later to see if I can get keyboard working. If I type a key on the keyboard currently, it will disable the trackpad. I'm clueless on the network, but am going to try to use some program I found on another post to get it working.. not sure about it though.
