efegimitch
Im having trouble installing the marklar-tiger.iso patched with release 1. When i boot normally, im getting the grey screen with the little cirlce with cross through it ( like many others are getting), but when i boot the dvd with the -v , im getting a strange error and im wondering if anyone knows how to fix it, the error is as follows. " failed to load extension com.aple.nvidia.nv30hal display: family specific matching fails couldn't alloc class "NVDANV30HAL" " Obviously this is something to do with my video card, which is a nvidia Fx5500, which is supposedly supported by this release. IF i leave it at this screen for a minute or so, i then get the error, "still waiting for root device" which keeps repeating itself. Ive searched through these forums and i havent seen a post with a solution to this problem yet. also, when i boot with or without the -v extension, there is no dvd activity at all. When i run this iso in vmware, it hangs at the grey screen for a while, and then i get a message like "the virtual machine has sent an ATAPI(CDROM) command that is supported only when programming the drive via DMA. you will need to configure the guest operating sytem to use DMA etc." but then it boots fine, and goes into the installer Why does it boot in vmware and not natively? Is it something to do with my ide settings, i have a hard drive and pioneer dvr-108 both on primary ide cable, and they are both working fine. I have a p4 prescott 3.0ghz @ 3.3ghz(supports sse3) 512mb ram 120gb hdd (partitioned ) fx5500 256mb dvr-108 Asus p4s800 (sis based i think) any help would be greatly appreciated. thx.
