i cant get my video card work on my machine. when i boot Mac, it just loads and loading to infinity.

here are my installation cases:

1. i installed mac without the videocard (i used onboard videocard here), and it successfully installed and worked just fine welcomed mac.

2. installed mac without the videocard, successfully installed. after reboot, i inserted my videocard on my AGP slot. just loading and loading with the apple logo.

3. installed mac with the videocard, successfully installed but just like #2, cant startup and dont stop loading and loading.

in summary, i cant use my mac with my videocard inserted.. i need to run mac with my videocard bec i am triple booted with windows 7, Windows XP and Mac, i dont want to remove my videocard when im going to use mac and insert when im going to use Windows.

what would be the best solution to this problem. if this problem is currently solved. kindly refer me to that thread. ty.

Hi Zwitguy14,

I used this method to install Snow Leopard on my old Pentium 4 (ASUS P4C800, GeForce FX 5500):

1. Install Snow Leopard Hazard with only PCEFI 10.5 and Legacy Kernel selected.

2. Boot up in Safe Mode.

3. Run 10.6.6 Combo Update, do not restart.

4. Install Nawcom's 10.6.6 Legacy Kernel.

5. Install Bootthink 2.4.6, restart.

I did all the steps with my FX 5500 inserted. No QE/CI yet. Good luck.

Hi Baronmentros,

Thanks for the method you replied, I will do that steps as soon as i get back my DVD-ROM which I lend to my friend. I post here again if i got it worked or i got some other problem.

anyway, QE/CI is not the priority yet, I just need the videocard to work alongside with my other OS'es in different boot partitions, so i wont remove my video card when i want to use snow leopard.

Thank you again, ill post later for the result of your method for my old P4
