vkashat
This is my first attempt at a Hackintosh I have a Velocity Micro e2250 (with a few upgrades) and I have successfully gotten through the installation process of iATKOS S3 V2. I have tried many different options (disabling SMART in BIOS, disabling other hardrives, maxmem, rd=diskXsY, cpus=1, -v -x, -v -f, etc.) and cannot successfully boot. Either I get a "Still waiting for root device" message or a Kernel Panic that generally gets stuck at "system uptime in nanoseconds: _____________" As I said this is new to me, so I'm not sure what's preventing it from booting. I can access the OSX hard drive from Win7 installation off of another hard drive, so I have access to the files. Here are some of my hardware specs, if that helps: Asus P5N-D Mobo Intel Q9450 nForce 750i SLI chipset 8 GB ram (which is why I use maxmem=2048 at boot) NVidia GeForce 9800 GTX Any ideas as to what is preventing boot? See my iATKOS S3 v2 install guide here and note that using a SATA DVD drive is frequently the cause of the "still waiting for root device error".........AppleNForceATA_TEST.kext in /S/L/E with your SATA DVDROM......set up your BIOS correctly according to my BIOS template for 750i downloadable from post #1 in my nForce Series 7 guide here..... Alternative to iATKOS S3 v2, do a retail SL install using my guide here.......
