Installing SL on MSI-G41M-P28

Hello All

 

I am new to this OSX game. I have installed OSX 10.6.3 onto this machine:

 

1 x MSI-G41M-P28 motherboard

1 x Intel E5700 3GHz CPU

4 GByte RAM

2 x 80 GByte IDE 100 Hard Drives

2 x Sony Optical DVD Drives

1 x NVidia GTX8600 Display card with 512 MByte RAM.

 

SL 10.6.3 installs OK - the Sound and Network work OOB. I am using NawCom MOD CD to install. I first tried [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] but that froze. Even in safe mode. I am using Nawcom installing a vanilla kernel. I tried using a legacy kernel but that too failed. If I upgrade my software to 10.6.7 then my keyboard and mouse don't work. I also struggle to get 10.6.3 to boot off the hard drive.

 

After install I select the OSX partition on the hard drive and make it 'bootable' by installing the Chameleon bootloader. This does not work - I can only boot of the Nawcom CD.

 

Can someone please give me a few pointers - I am so close!!
