Weasil-B
Hi, I'm new to the forums and was hoping someone could shed some light on my kernel panic problem. My system specs are in my sig and i used iAtkos s3 v2 to install SL on my laptop, i have to use voodoo kernel 9.7.0 to get it further in the boot process than SMBIOS and DSDT stage which it used to get stuck at using the default kernel. the kernel panic is stated as "Failed to load extension com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPlatform" and then a bit of info on how to report it to the voodoo team. i've search for 3 days to find more information about this kernel panic and it seems more common on actual apple hardware than in the hackintosh world so its done nothing more than confuse me further. i've also tried using the ACPI kext from an iAtkos v7 DVD which is required along with the voodoo kernel to get Leopard working properly on my laptop. i want to be able to complete a #####+##### retail install of SL on my laptop but i dont want to go and spend £30 on a SL DVD only to find im still stuck at the same problem. i've tried using all manner of install combinations going through all the bootloaders i could find and using kernel flags including setting my busratio and my CPU arch, no combination gets the boot process any further. i'm really getting annoyed now because i've just found a method of enabling my graphics card for use with SL which so far has a high success rate. i know i'll need to end up changing my wifi card but im not bothered at this stage i just want a bootable install of SL. I've tried different Kernels, Bootloaders, with required kexts (such as SMBIOS kext) and without them. I'm going to attempt to follow a tutorial for DSDT editing/creating. Know of any helpful links perhaps?
