this is the juice of the experience gained in this thread:
thanks to everybody contributed to this

What works:
Everything except
- intel 5100 wifi (i've bought an atheros)
- vanilla speedstep (i use voodoopstates instead)

Restore iaAtkos S3 v2 on a USBkey (for a faster load and install)
-or use a iAtkos S3 v2 DVD

check asere or chameleon 5 pre
(update later to latest chameleon here:
and remember to selects genereate cstates and pstates)

uncheck any rtc patch option (you'll just patch your dtst after install)
uncheck any audio option

/ check battery and cardreader under laptop hardware drivers
/ check voodoopstates
/ check voodoops2

everything tool you need now is in lbrary/tools (DSDTSE and Kext Utility)
use this dsdt DELL_Precision_M6400_dsdt.zip
-that is for a Qx9300 and a Quadro FX 3700M
--to futher edit or optimize it refer to this post: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t&p=1557532

After run the combo update to 10.6.7 you have previously downloaded.

UPDATE! : to upgrade to 10.6.8 without freeze
install Modified_IOPCI_and_AppleACPI_for_10.6.8_and_Lion.zip before reboot after install the combo update 10.6.8

after you can apply Kexts:
- for broadcom eth use patched bcm5701.kext AppleBCM5701Ethernet.kext.zip
- for idt audio use patched hdaenabler.kext & applehda.kext Sound_for_M6400.zip
- for dell bluetooth DellBluetoothHCI.1.2.pkg.zip

Fell free to correct everything is wrong in "System Information" using latest Lizard (you know like memory, bus speed, etc..)
