webpower

After you install OSX you need to make the partition active or bootable. I used Ubuntu livecd (im a linux user too). so I used fdisk Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/25435-b0-error/#findComment-172389 Share on other sites

Rammjet
can you specifically tell me what can I do? In the 2nd post, I gave you a link to a tutorial on how to set your partition "active" which removes the b0 error. Didn't you even look at it? Nothing. I remember you that I solved the problem of "b0 error" but when macos start loading, it crasches and doesn't go on... It stop loading where apperars the apple on the grey background. Shows also a simbol on the centre of monitor like this: Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/25435-b0-error/#findComment-179954 Share on other sites
zedzed
bless --mount /Volumes/OSX --setBoot --verbose or bless --device /dev/disk0s1 --setBoot --verbosereboot This does not work (entered exactly as seen here) bless --mount /Volumes/OSX --setBoot --verbose it says something about no mount point. I also replaxed OSX with disk0s1 and that also did not work This one worked bless --device /dev/disk0s1 --setBoot --verbose Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/25435-b0-error/#findComment-183515 Share on other sites
Rammjet
This does not work (entered exactly as seen here) bless --mount /Volumes/OSX --setBoot --verbose it says something about no mount point. OSX has to be replaced with the name of your OSX partition. If the name has spaces, then you need to put the path in quotes: bless --mount "/Volumes/(name-of-OSX-partition)" --setBoot --verbose Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/25435-b0-error/#findComment-183519 Share on other sites

Rammjet
I remember you that I solved the problem of "b0 error" but when macos start loading, it crasches and doesn't go on... It stop loading where apperars the apple on the grey background. Shows also a simbol on the centre of monitor During the installation of 10.4.6, right before clicking on the Install button, you had to click on the Customize button and choose packages for your computer. There is a little arrow beside the patches category that you must click to reveal the individual packages. You should have chosen Intel packages, not AMD. And choose SSE2 or SSE3, not both, depending upon the capability of your processor. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...ost&id=4249 after setting these options, I must save? how? I was just answering zedzed as to why the first command didn't work for him. There is no "saving" necessary. The bless command modifies a file in the system. The recommended bless command was intended to fix the b0 problem which you already fixed. Dabundo
This is how I did it: 1- run intallation from CD/DVD. 2-when PC finished the 1st part of the installation, before continue, go to "Utilities" menu 3-once in the "Utilities"menu, select "Disk Utility". 4-Select first the hard drive and erase it, with format Mac OS Extended (Journaled), and proceed to erase the disk. 5-Select the second disk below the first disk, name it as you will and then format it Mac OS Extended (Journaled) like the first, erase the disk. 6-quit disk utilities and continue with the installation. 7-after select the disk where you're going to install Mac OS, continue with installation. 8-when the your last window before the final installation comes up, select "Customize". 9- in "Customize" check the audio, video options. You will see another [-] option with two options to check, check the second uption down, the MDF option, only that one. 10-Continue the installation. That should work. I've done the same process more that 3 times and always come up OK. In addition to that " do not update the Mac OS " It will ruin your MAC. Don't now why but it will. If this happen to you, go back to square 1. Good Luck. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/25435-b0-error/#findComment-844673 Share on other sites
