voodoor
Hi! I've been away from OSX86 for some time but recently needed to return. I never had any luck installing it with any of the boot disks a year or two ago but I've had some success with iPC and iDeneb- the versions I have both being based upon 10.5.6. I'm trying to get OSX running on a Tosh Satellite Pro A210 (Turion 64 X2 w/ ATI X1200 + 2GB RAM). iPC wouldn't install at all but I've got iDeneb to install. The voodoo 9.5.0 kernel is the only one of the 4 included that does work but it freezes after a while. What install method or distro and which version of OSX would people recommend for this laptop and will I be able to get OGL/accelerated gfx working on my (admittedly {censored}) gfx card? Ideally I'd like to get iDeneb running stable, maybe by installing another kernel or updating it to the latest Leopard or whatever. I've also had no luck getting the internal wifi nor the sound chipset working although apparently they should work with the correct kexts. Thanks for your help! voodoor
I seem to have resolved the crash/freezing problem simply by unchecking 'Put the hard disks to sleep' and setting sleep modes to 'Never' under the Energy Saver prefs- it was that easy. I'm very impressed with iDeneb and its got a few advantages over iPC. Now I'm just wondering what the hell that name is about? Its almost but not quite an anagram of Debian, otherwise its just random nonsense to me.
