(Solved) After 10.6.7 Update, FPS Dropped Badly

Friends,

 

I have a EP45-U3DR(XFX GTS250), installed with Kakewalk and a legit Snow Leopard 10.6.3

 

After I did a direct update to 10.6.7 from 10.6.5, I noticed for myself, where my Counter Strike Source use to run around 160FPS now dips to 30 - 40 FPS. X-Plane pretty much unplayable. I read from reviews and complaints by users all over who spoke of their bad experience with Warcraft and Star Craft.

 

Here is what I did which brought fun back to my Mac:

 

1. Access System Profiler, noticed my RAM was 1100Mhz which should have been 800Mhz

2. Accessed by BIOS and checked my RAM Settings, set most of the RAM settings to Auto

 

Boot back into Mac, and immediately noticed that my GFX speed is back.
