I have a Dell M90 running Snow Leopard 10.6.6 and everything works except:

Wifi (I know, replace the card)

Screen Sleep (NOT System Sleep)

Brightness keys

This topic is about the screen sleep problem, which is new to me. System Sleep works perfectly - goes to sleep, wakes up, all good. However screen sleep (when the screen dims to black) fails to wake up (screen stays black although system is clearly running). In fact, the backlight clearly comes on but the display remains all black. I've tried "stimulating" it with both the builtin trackpad and keyboard (PS2 kext) and through USB mouse/keyboard (USB Rollback kext).

In researching this, every query I try is overwhelmed with system sleep posts so I haven't found anything on this strange problem.

Anyone heard of this?

Yes, I'm having the same problem, but I'm on 10.6.7. My brightness keys DO work though. But when the screen goes to black I get nothing. I also noticed I can hotkey toggle bluetooth while I wsa trying to wake it with fn+F3. That was new to me as I thought I had somehow lost bluetooth in my attempts to get my usb ports working.

I only have two issues now, the wifi (I just ordered the 1510 for $19.99 on ebay) and sleep. I'm sure I'll discover something else weird later on, but so far everything is good. I even got CUDA working! This lappy is pretty awesome on snow for being so old.

So basically, I'm in the same boat. From what I've read the sleep problem could be in the DSDT. My buddy Hangten and I are trying to track it down.
