xorxorxor
I googled similar topics and tried out some kexts, but the problem persists. Here is what I got when I gave "-v" boot option. panic(cpu 2 caller): Kernel trap at 0x00295886, type 14=page fault Kernel Extensions in backtrace com.apple.ATIRadeonX3000(6.2.6)@0x5f530000->0x5f73cfff Dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily(2.6)@0x55150000 Dependency: com.apple.iokit.IONDRVSupport(2.2)@0x5e854000 Dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOGraphicsFamily(2.2)@0x5e8d1000 The funny thing is, when I delete "ATIRadeonX3000.kext", Mac OS X boots perfectly but it has no QE/CI support. The panel is not translucent and the animation is choppy. But the OS boots, and the sound is enabled. With ATIRadeonX3000.kext in action, the boot procedure is non-deterministic: it fails 75% of the time, and the other 25% time, the OS boots with QE/CI support, but the sound icon is grayed out and no sound support. What is going on here? Has anybody experienced something similar? My Laptop is MSI GX660R-060US. : http://www.xoticpc.com/msi-gx660r060us-gam...top-p-2864.html - Intel i7-740QM - ATI Radeon HD5870 mobility - 4GB of RAM
