Ed Madrigal
Hey guys, i am looking to get a motherboard. I was wondering if anyone has any exsperience beside what was said in the WIKI. The two boards are: Intel® Desktop Board D955XBK http://www.intel.com/products/motherboard/d955xbk/index.htm Intel® Desktop Board D945GPM http://www.intel.com/products/motherboard/d945gpm/index.htm I am looking for speed and overall quaility info. Also has anyone tired the raid on either of these boards?? The only other question that i was wondering is, I am going to need a low end Video PCI-E Video Card, i was wondering if anyone knew any good ones since I can only find High end info. \Thanks\. Guest bikedude880
I personally would go with the Asus P5LD2-VM, as it is about 90% compatible (just need to edit a kext to get sound working in 2.1) As for RAID, this board does not have it. Video card? Nah. If you get a board with a compatible chipset (like the 945G) then everything should work just fine, unless you want to do graphics intensive stuff. edit: Keep doing your research. I built 4 computers on paper before I landed on this design, and even then I had to compensate a little. Ed Madrigal
this is my 3rd Draft, the only reason i might need a pci-e card, is because the 955x chipset motherboard doesn't have onboard lan. But thanks for the asus tip i might be makeing a 4th draft now.
