Geesu
As the topic says... I've tried acronis as well as XFdisk... None will find the partition as as OS (I tried chain0 too) And actually, if I set the os x partition as active it won't boot, I need to have the CD in then it will boot to the OS. ANyone have any ideas as to what I should change so I can add mac os x to a boot loader? Thanks!!
Guest BuildSmart
This has to do with the method and type of partition you created. If you have windows installed this is the simplest method to achieve a working solution. 01) disable Acronis. (you can enable it later) 02) delete the mac partition 03) reboot windows 04) Start->run (type cmd) 05) type "diskpart" 06) type "list disk" (to get the correct disk if more than one) 07) type "select disk 0" 08) type "list partition" (so you can see what the new # will be) 09) type "create partition" 10) type "select partition N" (N is the new partition number) 11) type "active" 12) quit and reboot 13) install OSX (erase partition and make HFS+ jornaled first) 14) edit com.apple.Boot.plist and add the Timeout entry. That's it.
Geesu
Thanks!! I'll try this when I get home from work I added a 5GB partition at the END of the drive to use to xfer files in b/t windoes + mac, that shouldn't matter right? Before I had it (when it didn't work): Windows Partition 5GB Partition OS X Partition Now I'll have it: Windows Partition OS X Partition 5GB Partition
