Krishna21
Ideas? I did the following: 1) Add dev ID to NVDANV50HAL.kext 2) Set GraphicsEnabler=Yes in com.apple.boot.plist 3) Reboot When I booted with -V Chameleon detected the card, plus the verbose log also said "NVDANV50 loaded and registered". I booted into a lit black screen; my monitor said adjusting resolution..so I tried rebooting setting Graphics Mode to 1366x768 (My monitor's max resolution), didn't work. I then tried the default 1024x768, no luck. -V -X gives me a kernel panic. I'm using a VGA monitor; plugging in to a DVI port via VGA to DVI. My card does not have a VGA Port. It's a EVGA 8400GS 512MB DDR3. I'm on OS X 10.6.6. Any help is appreciated; thank you! Krishna21
Thank you for the response Anyways, I used EFI Studio and imported the string into com.apple.boot.plist. System Profiler detected my card 100% yet I'm still stuck at 1024x768 with no QE/CI. NVEnabler 64 gave me a black screen, with my monitor saying "Adjusting resolution".. :\ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/252613-evga-8400gs-black-screen/#findComment-1658764 Share on other sites

NVEnabler 64 gave me a black screen, with my monitor saying "Adjusting resolution".. :\ I'm having the same issue with the same card. Just goes black. I can either run generic nvidia 32MB and I can run 1900x1200, or anything else just goes black. And it looks like the system is in a loaded state because you can plug and unplug USB devices and see drive activity. I too would appreciate any insight. I seem to have two bad cards. This evga 8400 GS 512MB and the Powercolor Radeon HD 2400XT. I'd love flash player not to crash every browser and for time machine to work properly again!
