Fireface 800 doesnt load

Hi guys ,

 

I have this really odd problem with my external firewire sound device.

I've installed 10.4.6 HOT ISO on my Intel865GLC motherboard. OSX is working fine , all o.b hardware is working out of the box. I then installed the firewire card (nec chipset , and also via) to work with my brand new firewire 800 rack.

It doesnt even load the device! I checked for compatibility prior to my installation , and i saw at least one person quoting it's working 100%.

I've also tested it on my friend's Laptop D820 (Dell) , and it loads right away on the 2nd boot after installation completes.

 

We both have the same installation ISO.

 

What could be the issue then ??

P.S - it's working on my WinXp boot! working great i must say!

Im having the same problem like U!

 

I have read the osx86wiki and found the RME FIREFACE 800 fully supported

and so i bought the beast, just to find it not working....

i was .........................mad

 

ok i havent gave up......i managed to find out its something about the 10.4.6 extensions, which cause the problem somehow....10.4.5 extensions should be fine, i was told....

finally i ended up with several different installs of 10.4.5/6 and i tried to exchange extensions...

many things.,,, my prob is i dont have (that enormous amount of) time and/or experience needed to fix this until yet.

maybe u have a clue what u can try to make it work

(if u have luck maybe u can drop me a little message how u did it)

(next time i will make a journal of all tasks and steps, as its really much stuff to remember)

 

 

btw, the onboard audio doesnt work, altough its also in the HCL....(Intel HD Audio, same as in the 945 iMac MoBo) which seems also to be an issue with the exttensions....

Intel 975XBK (onboard USB2/FIREWIRE 400&800(!) Working without further modification

Intel Pentium D 940 3,4 GHz DualCore Processor

ATI X1600XT 256 PCI-E Graphics Card (CI & QE working with borisbadenov drivers)

DAWI DAWICONTROL ATA133 Controller (PCI) -(working without any drivers on os x)

1x400GB SATA HD, 1x250GB SATA, 1x80GB PATA Drives, all fine

OnBoard INTEL HD Audio Sigmatel 9223 not working
