bittenkitten
Hello everyone, Like apparently a lot of people on this forum, I too am having a lot of trouble with audio on my SG33G5 (Shuttle PC). This is what I've done so far: 1- Installed SATA harddrive. 2- Used Kalyway 10.5.1 to install Leopard on SG33G5, with vanilla kernel and the realtec audio driver (according to the specs, the on-board audio is Realtek® ALC888DD). 3- Found that neither System Profiler nor System Preferences\Sounds was detecting the on-board audio. 4- Scrutinized forums and tried to replace the Apple HDAkext, but kept getting permissions errors even after I verified/repaired permissions. 5 - Tried to run ALC888Audio.mpkg, no luck. 6- Ran Taruga_AD1988b_rev4_Installer, no change. 7- Realized that I hadn't switched SATA to ACHI. Did that, and instantly System Profiler shows me my built-in audio. 8- However, "Sound" still shows me no input or output devices. *tearing hair out* Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I've tried just about everything I've found on the forum, all to no avail. I used Kalyway 10.5.1 because Hackintosh.com recommended it. I am now in the process of obtaining Kalyway 10.5.2 and iDeneb v1.4, and am hoping that one of those will work in combination with one of the patches above. If anyone can see something in my sequence that I did incorrectly, please let me know! Thanks!
