CHalligan
I cloned my Hackintosh install from my 80GB external HDD to my 64GB SSD. It was working fine on the external HDD, and still is. But I want to run it from my SSD now. The SSD already had Windows 7 installed on it, so I created an NTFS partition in Windows, booted to my Hackintosh and formatted the partition as HFS+ then used CarbonCopyCloner to clone my install onto the new partition. After that I ran ##### and installed the latest Chameleon Bootloader, changing the install location to the new OSX partition. When I restarted it showed the Chameleon screen for a second then my monitor went idle and nothing happened. From reading about I understand I need to change the boot settings to recognise the active device, but all the guides I've read tell me to use the boot CD to do it. However, I can't get my boot CD to load (I had this issues when first trying to install OSX, I can't remember what I done now but I eventually got it to work). Can I do the same thing via my OSX install on the external hard drive? Also, the only way I can get into Windows 7 is by holding F8 and selecting the SSD. Then EasyBSD gives me an error and doesn't show my installs. Going into the Windows 7 install CD it doesn't bring up my installation in the OS list when I try to do a startup repair. If anyone can help me with either of those problems, as always it's massively appreciated. CHalligan
All sorted. Followed a guide to fix the Windows boot record using commandpromt and it fixed my OSX too. Happy times. OSX on an SSD is unreal fast. I'm amazed. Went from booting up in 20-30 seconds to about 3-5 seconds. Applications pretty much open the same second you click on them. Highly advisable to anyone considering the switch.
