adp10390
Hello, I've been using Logic Express 7.1.1 Academic for some time now on a 1.67GHz PowerPC G4 Powerbook, running OS 10.4.7. The problem is as follows: whenever I try to import a MIDI (usually from Sibelius, but from other places as well) the pan and volume change (always to the same values, can't remember off the top of my head) and no matter how much I fool around with the automation, it switches back to those values as soon as the line hits that region during playback. In addition, imported WAV files are sped up and pitched higher, and AIFF files are slowed down and pitched lower. Any help at all would be very much appreciated. rumorpro
No idea how to fix ur problem (sorry) but I have a somewhat related problem so I figured this would be a good place to post it. When importing mp3 files using the audio window, I get a error message saying that Logic cant read the file. As I understand it, Logic is supposed to automatically covert mp3 files to an aiff file of the same sampling rate you are using in your song. Anyone know why Im having this problem? guitarman149
okay here goes, adp10390, im not sure what you're problem you have with the midi is, but to resurect it, go into each channels list editor from the windows menu and just delete the patch changes present or type in the numbers. and rumourpro this mp3 problem you're having was adressed in the logic pro updates that have come out. the files also playing at the wrong speed could be that you have a sample rate setting different to the original material. chris Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/25126-unusual-problems-importing-audio-files-in-logic-express/#findComment-285491 Share on other sites
-JD-
With the MIDI problem, find out what type of MIDI file you are trying to import into logic (Type 0 or Type 1). The problem sounds like you are using a Type 0, as the single MIDI track will hold all the MIDI data.....try using a Type 1, which will import into logic as a different MIDI track for each part, and you should get an extra MIDI track with all the MIDI controller data. You should be able to erase it all at once, or if you only want to erase volume and pan erase everything on controllers 7 and 10 (they will show up in Logic's Matrix editor). You can choose the MIDI file type in the export menus in most programs like sibelius... The audio files really do sound like a sample rate issue as guitarman said - double click an offending audio file, and go into the Factory menu then select "Sample Rate Convert". If the values are different (ie one is 44100 and the other is 48000) then just hit the convert button and logic will take all your worries away Hope that helps, -JD- Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/25126-unusual-problems-importing-audio-files-in-logic-express/#findComment-292158 Share on other sites
