JohnDellXPS400 Posted March 11, 2011 Share Posted March 11, 2011 Ive been battling this laptop trying to get Mac OS X to install.. and it just doesn't seem to want to install.. ive gotten as far as installing mac osx but it will not boot into desktop. it either restarts or locks up on the Apple screen.. ive tried a number of different hackintosh's and a variaty of different combinations.. so im running to you guys for help.. the product number is in my sig.. i hope you guys can help me.. i want mac osx back :-( lol just incase my sig doesnt show up.. the product number is : VX067AV Thanks in advance guys. ekwj Posted March 12, 2011 Share Posted March 12, 2011 Hi, I have a similar model, the 3030tx DV6 and I'm having trouble with 10.6.6. I am able to install 10.6.3 from the Snow Leopard OSX DVD using the Nawcom's OSX86 ModCD 0.3.1. After performing a combo update to 10.6.6, I am unable to boot the computer, it just gets frozen in the grey screen with the Apple logo that has the rotating load indicator. However, I am able to boot again with Nawcom's DVD into my HDD. Retail 10.6?.. is your DV6 got the I7 quad core and the ATI graphics card?? id like to get mac installed.. even if its just 10.6 i just have no idea how to go about it.. thanks for the reply guys. ekwj Posted March 12, 2011 Share Posted March 12, 2011 Hi John, Yes it's the retail 10.6.3 OSX DVD. My DV6 has Core I5 and the ATI Radeon Mobility HD5650. I am able to install it however wi-fi doesn't work in 10.6.3 and gfx doesn't work as well and therefore it runs at 1024x768. I tried checcco & atlee's methods in the ATI forum and so far haven't been able to get them to work. Atlee's got the closest specs to ours as he runs a 3032tx. Hope we can help each other out, really wanna get OSX working on my DV6 hehe.
