thenk
Yes, I have read all the tutorials and followed them to the tee with 10.6 retail as well as 10.6.3 retail. My issue is, no matter what I do, the installer refuses to boot. There is apparently no troubleshooting offered in any of the forums about it - apparently the installer is pretty forgiving, and will at least do something so you can fix it up later. However, a combination of issues have appeared on this install. At all points I've used ##### to boot the retail DVD, which I then start with the -x -v cpus=1 line as recommended, it spends about 5 minutes loading KEXTs, then: Says 'Cannot find DSDT' then Using Retail 10.6, it flashes up a grey apple screen, then resets. Using Retail 10.6.3, it says something about framebuffer, then ATI driver POSTed, reading VBIOS legacy - and stops there. Now, using older version of ##### have yielded in the installer saying "loading darwin" then resetting. I'm pretty stuck as to what to do. There's no troubleshooting for installer failing to load at all. All the troubleshooting available seems to be for issues with the installation process itself - everyone seems to be able to get to that point at least. The BIOS I'm running is the Insyde F.25 bios - which is pretty much locked down to the teeth. The only thing I can change is power saving on LAN, and boot order. Which I have turned off, and set to CD>HD. What am I doing wrong? I'm booting with #####, using the retail DVD.. that's apparently all you need to do?
