krv
HI, I've got an HP m9040n running 10.6.3, Everything works great, and all components seem to be working fine, and I've never had it crash on me in six months. However, I was looking at pStateChanger because I noticed geekbench was reporting my CPU as running at only 1.6GHz and not the full 2.4GHz. I then noticed that various temperature monitor apps were reporting that my cores were at 70-73 degrees celsius while idle! When I run geekbench they get up into the 80s. What can I do to help lower this temperature? The fan seems to come on every few minutes (extremely loud), even when idle, I'm assuming there is an issues with the fan control. Anyone have any suggestions? Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/250930-cpu-temperature-way-too-high/ Share on other sites
