Avboden
Please and thank you in advanced. Alright just built myself a new rig. MSI 870-G45 AMD Athalon II X4 640 XFX Radeon HD5770 from everything i've found on line, running snow leopard SHOULD be possible on this machine. I've tried following the various instructions i've found and so far this has gotten me the closest. http://www.taranfx.com/install-snow-leopard-on-amd I did everything in that, but i'm having a problem with chameleon... when I run the installer, any chameleon installer, it fails right at the end of the instal. Most of it gets installed, but my /extras/extensions folder is left empty. I've added what files I *think* should be in there manually, but that's as far as I got with that. I then followed the rest of the instructions. On boot I don't get a kernel panic at all, and it seems like it wants to boot, I get the apple with the spinning wheel, but eventually a question mark comes up over the apple, usually the cry for "Help! I can't find the OS!!!!" I'm assuming this is a problem with the bootloader... Any advice? New instructions? I can start over fresh that's not a problem. Oh i'm installing everything to the drive from my macbook pro. Got a separate drive just for OSX, so no worry with windows. thanks! Dellmantt
Look at this http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=227592 And since you have a "macbook pro" you could try what I call the alternative myhack install as described in my guide. Different hardware but the implementation would be similar. Read the myhack website- gives a good explanation of what the extra kexts installed are for. And This search of the forum for your MB http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&...mp;aql=&oq= Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/250851-help-amd-rig/#findComment-1651895 Share on other sites
