Hi there,

I am new to the OSx86 community and have recently bought a Samsung R730 (see my signature). I know, there is a thread here, but I am new and cannot post there and am forced to clutter the forum.

So here it goes:

I initially installed with ##### and retail DVD, then upgraded with Combo to 10.6.6. I ran #####, but afterwards read a lot about DSDT and tried to replace most of the kexts with DSDT hacking. I am using DSDTSE and am pretty happy with it. However, there are a few issues left and I would love to gain some helping hand here.

 • Brightness slider - worked before, but is gone again
 • Sleep - goes to sleep, but wakes up imemdiately and shows a black screen
 • Hibernation. Wakeup does not work
 • Want to get rid of the GraphicsEnabler with the GFX adjustment in DSDT...
 • Trackpad does not allow gestures and scrolling. I do not run VoodooPS2 and the PrefsPane shows Trackpad not installed. However, it works - just without scrolling and gestures. I would love to get this going, I am just not sure how.

Attached are some more information about the dsdt I am using and the hardware.

Brightness slider is fixed again and CMOS reset too.

The only big blockers remaining are Sleep, Hibernation and the Trackpad. I would really love to get some help on these.

THis one helped to get two finger scrolling: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...175372&st=0

Now to sleep and hibernation.

Simply just get a new sleepenabler.kext.

I had it, but with the same effect. System goes to sleep, stays off for a second, turns on again and screen is black.

I thought that there are things to do in the DSDT to let it sleep properly.

What about hibernation? Does it automatically work as soon as sleep works? Or are there additional steps to be taken to enable hibernation?

To be honest, I rarely use sleep, but hibernation is the one I use very often. Right now, if I click hibernate, system goes down very quickly, turns off and on again and screen is black. I do not think that it writes a hibernate file to disk...

Got it working with hibernatemode 3. A lot of DSDT patching involved.

Now pretty much everything is working. THanks insanelymac ;)
