Namp
Hi! I have installed mac os x successfully! But I have still a problem with chain0 because the order of my partitions are -primary (win xp) -extended -primary(Mac OS X) Does anybody know how i can change the order without formatting a partition? Or does it give an other solution to dual boot without always take a boot cd like UBCD. Thanks for all help! Macoso
If you aren’t comfortable modifying boot.ini, boot under XP, go to PC properties, and then advanced options, under startup click configuration. As show on picture… Hope to help you Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/25035-change-order-of-the-partitions/#findComment-169108 Share on other sites
Namp
Thank you! I know how I can modify the boot.ini. But I think that this is not the problem I have. I read the manual to chain0 and there is explained that the partition have to be like -primary (win xp) -primary (mac os x) -other... and in my laptop the partition are like -primary (win xp) -other... primary (mac os x) Now I want to know if I can change (perhaps with partition magic or...) the order of the partitions or does it give an other solution to multiboot with this order of partitions. Macoso
Ok I understand now your problem. I don't know if you can move a partition, but if you can, try with Partition magic. Good luck and tell us if you have success Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/25035-change-order-of-the-partitions/#findComment-169396 Share on other sites
mujomojo
first post. yay. re the partitions .. afaik there is no way to "reorder" parts w/o destroying something and recreating it elsewhere. partitions are "physical" .. they literally exist before/after another on the drive. they're not "logical" units where you can just update some pointer and voila. sorry man.
