rbaile28
ASUS P6X58D-E / i7 950 / SL Retail Have been though the gauntlet of trying to get this thing to work and came across a kernal panic that others seem to have had yet not posted what they did to fix it. panic(cpu 0 caller 0x74d823a2): "No HPETs available... CPU(s) configured incorrectly\n"@SourceCache/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement-104.3/pmThread.c:148 First tried #####, got the "still waiting on root device" that led me to Boot132 and the above error, which has led me to wanting to return my motherboard and give up. I've played around with the SATA settings, I've tried every combination of boot args I can think of, I'm pretty much fresh out of ideas. I can offer a decent amount of cash for anyone willing to take some time to work with me. rlf
Some people have had success by just removing that kext. Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/250281-yet-another-asus-p6x58d-e-issues-thread/#findComment-1649256 Share on other sites
rbaile28
Ended up using a different hard drive (scaling back down to 1TB as per the wiki on the mobo) and played around with the placement of the sata. Plain DVD to SATA 1 (blue) and the HDD to the 6gb/s SATA 1 (the gray ones). This seemed to do the trick with ##### and args -x -v arch=i386 cpus=1.
