Good Morning Everyone,

I have been looking around this forum for a few days and the information on it is amazing. I could not have gotten this far without it and #####+#####. So thank you so much tony for putting the time into the software you have made.

Anyway, now the reason I am posting. I have officially gotten my Lenovo X61 to run Mac OS X with everything working but the wireless card, and sleep function. The sleep function is no bing deal because I just shut the computer down when it is not in use but I would really like wifi to work. Here are my computers specs.

CPU: Intel Core2Duo @ 2.0 Ghx

Memory: 2 GB DDR2

Graphics: Intel X3100

Ethernet: Intel 8566MM

HDD: WD 3200 BEV SATA

WiFi: ThinkPad Wireless LAN (11abgn) (Atheros AR5212 Card)

I have tried the searching the forum and found some methods that supportively works in 10.6.0 true 10.6.2 but they did not help at all with 10.6.6. The best I got was it finally showing up as airport under network, but when I tried to turn the airport on, the computer kernel paniced and had to be redone.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. I would love to get this fully working on here so that I can do my desktop computer next.

Andrew

It might be as simple as adding the vendor id and device id of the wireless card to the plist of the Atheros kext. In the Genius Bar section of the forum are tutorials on finding the vendor id and device id. Inside the IO80211Family.kext is an Atheros kext. You would need to modify its plist. There is also a tutorial in the Genius Bar on how to do that.
