Foxic
Hi I'm trying to get my installation perfect and the only thing I left I can find is that in system profiler under Memory it says: There was an error while gathering this information. Under 'About this Mac' my ram reads as 6Gb 400mhz DDR3. I'm using 3 x 2Gb Corsair dominator 1600MHz RAM My voltages are correct and the RAM is running at 1600MHz when checked through BIOS. Is there anything I can do to get this recognised? Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/249894-system-profiler-memory/ Share on other sites

FAQBoy
Don't worry, fixed it with lizard Can you give more detail or post your smbios.plist file so others can try your solution? Foxic
I just used lizard to input the correct info for memory, if you find and download lizard it'll all become clear. First I had a look on the side of the ram sticks for the serial and product id. I selected Corsair as my manufacturer and selected 1600 under type and entered serial and product id for each of my occupied memory banks. The empty ones are picked up automatically. You need to restart in order for this to take effect. I'm at work at the moment so this is off the top of my head, I'll post clearer details later tonight Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/249894-system-profiler-memory/#findComment-1650771 Share on other sites
FAQBoy
I'm at work at the moment so this is off the top of my head, I'll post clearer details later tonight Thanks so much! Can you also check if you had any system profiler errors in syslog before 3/2 when you fixed the issue? I'd be interested to know that. I've been seeing: System Profiler[###]: Exception while calling [sPMemoryReporter updateDictionary:]\n*** -[NSArray subarrayWithRange:]: index (0) beyond bounds (1) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/249894-system-profiler-memory/#findComment-1651158 Share on other sites
