Hi, I have the Acer Aspire 5745G 724G50Mn and I've tried a lot of distros, tried booting with DVD and with USB, every time with the same result. I get into Chameleon or whatever bootloader there is and then the Apple logo loading screen flashes for half a second and next second the computer is rebooting. I've tried to install the latest chipset driver since that was my first guess at a solution but nothing changed. Any ideas on what's causing this and how to fix it?

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply but no. Same flashing of loading screen and then reboot. I tried busratio=17, 18, 20, 12 and also safe and cpus=1 but nothing works. This is really getting frustrating, I read on here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t=#entry1555992

that a guy booted from USB and installed on an Acer Aspire 5745G 724G64Mn, that's just the 64 changed to 50 for me! What could be diffrent?

I recorded the verbose on my phone and watched the video to see where it went wrong.

In safe mode it loads a whole lot of {censored} before it restarts but normal just prints a few lines, something like this:

Loaded HFS+ file: [system/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/Extensions....

No SMBIOS replacement found

Patched DMI Table

Found SMBIOS System Information Table 1

Using SMBIOS UUID='20ced4aa-513c-474e-9adb-c8**a93b1f8f' as system-id

Using system-type=0x01

efi_inject_get_devprop_string NULL trying stringdata

No DSDT replacement found. Leaving ACPI data as is

Starting Darwin x86

that's where it reboots. First line I can't see more to the right of the cam, it doesn't really end with ... Also 'Using SMBIOS UUID' line, the two * are infact 2 or 3 numbers/letters, I just can't see, there's a flash right there in the vid. Otherwise it should be correct. The same rebooting thing happens on 10 diffrent distros I've tried, though I haven't seen all verbose so I can't be 100% sure it's the same thing on all. This right now is a retail 10.4.3 on a USB flash drive, restored from a virtual hackintosh and bootloader is myHack Chameleon. If it helps anything my processor is an Intel Core i7 Q720 @ 1.6GHz.

I haven't had this much problem with my other computer, Intel Pentium Dual Core @ 1.99GHz. Though that one has only unsupported hardware when it comes to an internet connection. That's why I really want this to work on this computer, I know it has supported Wireless and Ethernet hardware.

Can someone figure out what's wrong from that verbose?
