00se7en
i think that osx is changing my hardware clock because when i go into windows or linux the time is always wrong and then i check the bios and the hardware clock is changed to the wrong time. why is it doing this and how do i stop it? btw i'm on pacific time (and all 3 os's are set up to know this) and i think osx changes the time to be 7 hours later. Rammjet
OSX stores time as UTC (Greenwich) and then makes an addition to local time. Windows stores local time. Pacific time is 7 hours away from UTC time. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/24984-clock-keeps-getting-changed/#findComment-168813 Share on other sites
00se7en
hmm, ok. well since it seems like i can't make them both happy then maybe i will just tell osx that i am on gmt/utc. Guest BuildSmart
You can also modify the source (available) to use local time as your reference point so that you can use a time server and not have it mess up the time.
