AmberJ
I've got a DV6000 Laptop (specifically model DV6327cl). I was able to successfully install OS X 10.6.3 on it using iatkos S3 V2. I've got an interesting problem with my built-in Mouse/Trackpad and my USB Mouse/Keyboard. I had to install using the USB Mouse/Keyboard because the built-in Keyboard/Trackpad did not work at all. I selected Apple PS2 Drivers during my install. After I booted up, it asked me to identify my keyboard (USB). I went through the process of setting it up and suddenly my built-in Keyboard/Trackpad are working! So I allowed it to finish indexing the search and then I repaired permissions and rebooted. It came back up and both USB and Built-in hardware are working. So I shut down the computer and unplugged the USB Mouse/Keyboard. I rebooted and the built-in hardware is not responsive. I shut it down by holding down the power button and rebooted with the USB Keyboard/Mouse. Nothing works now. I can move the mouse pointer around, but I can't click anything. I tried to boot in -v and it's still doing the same thing. Does anyone have any insight? I'd like to get to the point where I can just use the built-in hardware without attaching the USB stuff. Here is my setup and my install settings: CPU: AMD Turion 64 X2 mobile technology TL-50 / 1.6 GHz RAM: 1 GB DDR2 5300 Chipset: Nforce Video: Nvidia Geforce 6150 Go HD: 120 GB Serial ATA Install Customization Options: - Chameleon RC4 bootloader - Quoop 10.3.0 Kernel - 32-bit Boot - Legacy Logo - Quiet Boot - Nvidia Nforce SATA/IDE - Broadcom Wireless - Voodoo Sound - Apple PS2 I also have to boot with bootflag busratio=8 Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/248826-trackpad-only-works-with-usb-mouse-plugged-in/ Share on other sites

I'm going to try that after I get this USB situation fixed. Just to update everyone, I rebooted the computer again after being in safe mode and I booted normally with just the bootflag busratio=8. Everything worked again. I'm really confused at this point. Why is my PS2 Keyboard/Trackpad working sometimes, and sometimes not. Why is it only working when the USB Keyboard/Mouse is plugged in? Didn't you say had both the ApplePS2 and VoodooPS2 kexts installed? I think there is a possibility that a conflict arises, but I don't know what the consequence of such a conflict would be, so speculatively, http://www.puredarwin.org/developers/xnu/ps2-controller which favors the Voodoo PS2 Controller "Notes: The KEXTs above are conflicting with ACPIPS2Nub from D. Elliott (e.g., needed for ApplePS2Controller) so be sure choose one or the other solution exclusively." Renaming the ApplePS2Controller kext might be worthwhile pursuing pending a more authoritative diagnosis and advice. In your other thread you said "Both PS2 options (apple/voodoo)" and reinstalled with the EXACT same settings. Then I did an install with just Voodoo installed and got no results. So this latest install, I did just Apple and my built-in Keyboard/Trackpad will work as long as the USB Mouse/Keyboard is plugged in. But, I'm getting very inconsistent boot-up results. Sometimes both work, sometimes the USB Mouse/Keyboard work and then sometimes none of them work. I don't change anything in my bootup process. A lot of the time the USB Mouse will move the cursor, but won't allow me to click on anything. I really don't know what is going on. Could it be my kernel? Should I try a different one? I would have thought that since it works sometimes, which I think means the driver loads sometimes, that the problem was a poorly written kext. If you did try a new kernel which one? There are settings in your Bios that relate to USB, well many Bios have such a setting. Since you bought this laptop used, you may not have the user manual. http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01035677.pdf Big manual http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00841405.pdf small manual http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2010/11/mac...065-update.html * USB - As of ##### 2.4.1, ##### has been updated to include USB Rollback, which enables full USB functionality on 10.6.5. I haven't discovered anybody who has made your computer work as a Hackintosh, nor have I seen an install guide, which leaves a lot left for trial and error. But it does seem like there ought to be a way to make your mouse and keyboard work. AMD support lags for Hackintosh. I appreciate all of this information. I checked into a few of these options. ##### is not compatible at all with AMD systems. I downloaded ##### and I'm working with that at the moment. There a lot of options, so it's probably going to be hit/miss to get all of the options just right. I'll let you know if I run into any new issues.
