Hey,

I am trying get this working for me.

I have successfully installed OS X on my computer using #####,

the problem is that I CAN boot from the disc at first and setup the update and #####.

But when i try to boot from HDD my cpu fan seems to go into hyperdrive and no image displays on monitor.

I tried going back into the OS through ##### CD again and this time it froze on the spinning icon screen.

I have installed OS X 4 times to get this to work and i am about to give up!

Also every time i want to boot the setup or even the OS i have to go through safe mode! I get the 'Please Turn Of Your Computer' error.

I have a:

Gigabyte h55m-ud2h motherboard (1156 chip)

i5 750 Quad CPu

ATI HD 5770 Graphics

500GB sATA HDD

DVD-R/W drive

Can Anyone Help Me Please?

byronic,

I had similar symptoms at one point (though I didn't understand it at the time, so don't think I even mentioned it in my post). Namely, the spinning gear and gray apple after installing and updating using an HD 5670.

Thanks to bcc9, I edited the com.apple.Boot.plist in /Extra to include

<key>

Graphics Mode

</key>

<string>

*resolution in this form: WidthxHeightxRefreshRate*

</string>

The display I used (actually an LCD TV) had a weird refresh rate, but the gear would continue spinning, even though no new video info was being sent to the display. I finally recognized that the system -wasn't- hung because I went to Screen Share without thinking about it, and was able to access the system that way (which was also how I gathered the correct resolution and refresh rate).

I don't know if your issue is exactly the same, but I hope so, because this is a pretty easy fix.

the symptoms sounds a little bit familiar, what im going to do is reinstall mac osx and before i restart,

mod the file in the /extras folder hoping this will work,

Although I dont see how that would make my CPU fan spin at full speed (hyperdrive lol)

Thanks

For you Graphic Card use this bootloader: Chameleon_v2.0_RC5_r700.zip

Kabil R700
