FuriousT
The subject line pretty much explains it. For some reason when I try to do a native install, my hard drive does not show up at all in disk utility. As far as I know I have it partitioned correctly (partition magic has it listed as Type AF), so it should be showing up in this disk utility. I have tried three different isos, Jas, hotiso, and Goatsecx, all 10.4.6, but still no go, it never appears. How do I get it to appear, and is it even possible? And if I can't get this hard drive to work, what are my other options for OS X? stats: processor: coreduo 1.83 ghz RAM 512 megs hard drive: fujitsu MHV2080BH SCSI SATA VIA VT6421 RAID Controller Intel 82801GBM/GHM (ICH7-M Family) Serial ATA Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/24825-no-hard-drive-in-disk-utility/ Share on other sites
Bryon
Best guess would be that OSX86 is not seeing your SATA controller. If all of your drives are SATA you may sol. I know on my Athlon64 my SATA drive would only show up after I reboot from the install but it was never seen with the installer. FuriousT
How did you manage to boot from the install if the installer couldn't see the drive?
