Steve_jobs1
I just upgraded my 9500gt with a hd5770 thinking I would be easy seeing that apple uses them too. The problem I'm having is I have 2 identical monitors and when trying to use extended desktop I get them mirrored. If I move the cursed to the right as if extended desktop is working, the mouse seems to keep going , itt doesn't just stop at the edge of the screen. My setup is Ga-ep45-ud3l using cartri 0.8 bios Sapphire hd5770 vapor-x 1gb (using 2x dvi for monitors) I tried multiple versions of chameleon but only the cartri bios modded one ( 0.5b I think) is the only one that gets past apple boot screen. ##### disc boots for me too with the dual screen working properly. Since ##### works what is different with that bootloader vs the other chameleon? Does anyone know how I can fix this. Thanks Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/248223-hd-5770-only-mirroring-dual-displays/ Share on other sites

Thanks Hey, i have the same card, and 3 monitors, and i am able to get 2 working on the dvi ports by flashing the card.. i think the file i used was called 57707.rom off this board or netkas.org. ive googled so much on this topic my brain hurts. I have a mac pro 4.1 with a PC graphics card, and the weird thing is i get EFI on the Displayport but when i boot into osx the displayport turns into a mirror of the dvi next to it and it only thinks i have 2 monitors. im guessing i need to mod the aty_init.kext but im not sure where that file is and don't want to install ##### if i don't need it as i have no boot issues. But yeah, you'll need to put at least 10.6.4 on there (or run the snow leopard graphics update) and probably flash the card.. but again my situation is different because this is real apple hardware except for the GPU. There was a post that mentioned text that needs to be added to that ATY_init file to support 3 monitors as it defaults to 2.. but the mirror issue is probably rom as I know i experienced that and thats how i solved it. But thats just my $.02 get a second opinion before going that route and backup your original rom. Also-i found that using VNC for the ipod touch helped when i couldn't get the gpu to output but i knew the machine was booted.. -J Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/248223-hd-5770-only-mirroring-dual-displays/#findComment-1641286 Share on other sites

Also, i noticed some of the pins were screwed up on my DP>VGA adapter.. so i took it apart and popped them back in and now it says the display port is active but there's no output. I think this is where i need ATY_init.kext and have to add stuff to it. The DP>HDMI cable from staples that shows EFI output on a flashed Sapphire 5770 oc edition must be passive since it just mirrors based on what i've found. I can't upload the rom file. look on netkas.org its called m57707.rom Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/248223-hd-5770-only-mirroring-dual-displays/#findComment-1642361 Share on other sites
