Hello!

Is there any chance to get working Gigabyte NV 8400GS with TurboCache? iAtkos 10.6.3 Hardware Profiler recognizes the High Definition Audio Controller (this card equipped with HDMI out) but not GPU - "Error, Unknown Device".

Model Name: GV-N84STC-512I, http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-p...spx?pid=3633#sp

Or should i buy another GS8400 non-TC? http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-p...spx?pid=3115#sp ?

I think that for the media-oriented PC, this 8400GS is more than enough.

nvidia cards with turbocache/shared memory are not supported.

Sorry about that, I was wrong. The following statement is true though:

Don't buy a 8400 card, they seem to cause trouble for many users. Try to find a 9500 GT instead.

In my Children's computer i have a 8400GS with no problem at all, 10.5.8 vanilla with old NVinject 0.2.1.

The previously mentioned non-TC card looks similar, with added HDMI-out - what i need, so i ordered it already and should be delivered next week.

In my Region (near Finland) i can't find 9500GT with built-in HDMI Audio Controller, with old style SPDIF connector - yes. :)

Edit: NV8400GS non-TC worked for 10.6.3 and 10.6.6. Dev ID= 0x10de:06e4. Unfortunately, they send me not that card i was ordered, but older Revision 1.4 with no onboard HDAC and 2m HDMI cable included for free :( .

NV8400GS TurboCache card has Dev ID = 0x10de:10c3, which on the list of supported graphics cards AnVal ACPI Loader ( http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=216726 ) and HDAC Dev ID = 0x10de:0be3.

With W7 and even XMBC Dharma 10 standalone all was OK.
